Some of the material Used at Mandate
Mandate has now been running at Pretoria Central for about 10 years. One of the key difficulties that has been experienced is finding appropriate material for Ministry and to build up the men @ Central in Godliness and Holiness. In those four years a lot of material has been used in the meetings that we have had. Some of the material that we have used has been:
Format used for the Ministry
Historically at Pretoria Central the Mens Ministry took place in the week, normally a Tuesday evening, and it took the form of having high level speakers addressing various topics. After a couple of years of there not being a Ministry focused on men @ Central, a few of the men at the Church were challenged (and prompted by the Holy Spirit) to start the Ministry with the focus being on building the men up in their faith and to challenge each other to be more Godly and Christlike.
The current format of the Ministry is that it meets for eleven months of the year on the fourth Saturday of each month. We have a good breakfast staring at 8am which is prepared by the Ministry Committee. (This time is a great blessing). This is followed by a speaker on a chosen topic and followed thereafter with interaction with those present.
The key challenge in the Ministry is the establishment of more formal mentorship / Accountability relationships.
